Title: Can't seem to change a material name and make it stick..
Post by: jhiker on July 27, 2015, 06:21:16 AM
I downloaded the 'BentigerBlueAlloy.mtl' referred to in this post...
https://www.keyshot.com/forum/index.php?topic=10913.msg52560#msg52560

...and saved it in my 'Dowloads' folder.
I then changed the name of it to 'Blue Zinc Alloy.mtl' and copied it to my Keyshot resources folder under '...metals/zinc..'

When I open keyshot (and allow the material refresh) I find the material there where it should be but it has retained the original name 'Bentiger...' etc.
Why can't I change the name of it..?
Thanks.

Drop the material onto an object, then rename it in the material editor to what you want, save it to where you want, then using the material library delete the original Bentiger material

Try this material for your other scratch map you wanted - It should hopefully last you until v6 is released

Oops that won't work it does not have the materials including in the mtl - Doh!

Added it to the Library Cloud as Shallow Heavily Scratched Steel - Hope it works for you. Let me know :)

Thanks. It seems to work OK and it looks quite nice.
Here it is applied to a universal coupling (Grabcad model).
