Title: Need a paper texture
Post by: Ed on November 28, 2010, 10:13:35 AM
I'm trying to create a textured white paper material - something like a quality heavy linen paper, or even a rough card stock material.

I have attached one example I found.  It looks like it was done using a wood grain normal map.

Any help or examples are appreciated.

hi,

I had a similar problem with cardboard-like material. What I would suggest: look for a nice picture of plain paper (or use your scanner, scan an A4) and use it as an normalmap. For the material itself, you must experiment (matte materials).

There's reams of great paper on CG Textures for free download.  www.cgtextures.com (http://www.cgtextures.com)

Thanks guys - I went to CG Textures.  KeyShot does a pretty good job of creating a "normal map" from a plain image.
