In the beginning I really couldn't see the need for the geometry editor.
However, in the last few weeks, it has been a huge timesaver for me while optimizing KeyShot scenes provided by clients.
Being able to split surfaces and parts quite fast inside KeyShot is awesome!
A big high-five to the team for seeing the need and implementing that feature!

The fact that I am not from a modeling background, this has saved so much time because I don't have to hand off the file to another 3D designer to open, make changes and then hand it back to me. I'm usually able to split/merge the surfaces I need. I do hope it becomes even more robust in 7.0, but it has indeed been a great addition.
Good point. I've had issues even on my own work where I either didn't want to go back into CAD or my initial import wasn't perfect. Definitely loving it.
