Title: Change Materials Without Removing Labels?
Post by: Robb63 on March 18, 2016, 05:51:40 AM
I am sure I remember in the past being able to hold a certain keyboard combination and dragging a new material to a selected object, and the object would change to that new material but keep all of the labels I had placed.

Was that a dream, or was/is that move still available?

Hi Robb.

On mac you retain labels if you hold down 'cmd' before letting go on the mouse and 'alt' to retain textures.
Not sure if it is the same on windows.

Don't you get the information in the top of the real-time view when dragging a new material onto a model (before letting go)?

Hi Esben,
I hadn't noticed the info at the top of the real-time window. Doh!

It is "Ctrl" drag on Windows. I know I had tried that a month or so ago and it wasn't doing that on whatever material/data combo I was working on at the time. It's working fine now!!

Thanks for the quick reply
