Just a few practice renders after some tips from Master Tim.
They are all good solid renders, Tim has given you some great foundation advice ...
Martin
The mercedes looks advertisement ready.
Excellent work.
I like the dark floor, a lot.
hmm if these are the "practice" renders, I can't imagine how the serious ones could look... it's just astonishing!
btw the textures you used on the ground, did you download them or they're already in keyshot?

I actually refrain from doing more than 5% post prod on renders. Just trying to keep it at raw as possible. I try to do everything within KS, to see how much I can push it without my pc blowing up :P As for the textures, I forgot exactly where I got them. But I'm sure it's around the web somewhere.
Trying to go back to how I set things up before. I choose to do a full 3d scene whenever possible. This time, still trying to perfect whatever Tim taught me. :)
Cool, but hard to tell the color. Is it silver or white?
I call silver :D
Josh! It's silver. :)
Great work. :)
Doing some materials testing over the weekend. Not happy with the metallic yellow I made. :/
Euro or JDM? :)
So far i prefer your last image :)
Martin
Thanks Martin. :)
Just trying to emulate master Tim. Ended up playing around too much. XD
Nothing wrong with playing, it's the best way to learn :)

True that Martin. :)

The difference between the first one and this one is obvious. Here the paint looks a lot less flat, while other details are nicely presented too. The only minor issue I see is that the front wheel looks a little odd (either too light or too tucked in), but it still is a very nice render. Easily the best one yet from a technical point of view, if you ask me.
Thanks Arn. :) I don't quite get what you mean about the front wheels though. The front wheels are actuallt at an angle of 15 deg to the left, it's not straight. Maybe that's why it looks tucked in. :)

The slight angle does not help, I agree. Of course, when creating presentation shots, being accurate is not enough. As the wonderful Feher discussed in his webinar, you need to make sure lines do not intersect in a strange fashion, or that the visual flow gets disrupted by how the perspective pans out. If it is accurate, though distracting, going for another set-up is probably a better idea :)
I really like the paint on new one too. It seems you are really getting the hang of it :) There are some minor issues, like the angular tailpipe, but you need to look quite hard.
Thanks for the tips Arn. I'll keep that in mind. :)
Thanks for the feature on Keyshot's Facebook page. :)
The raindrops are a nice touch, but a pattern kind of emerges after a little bit of looking at it.
very very very good!
gratz!

Thanks Josh! Yeah, I noticed that too. It looked so fake after a while. :)
Been gone for quite some time because of thesis. Had a little bit of free time to render, so I this came out. :)

Cool! This one's easy on the eyes.
That looks absolutely great. The materials look nice, the reflections work out, the angle and perspective is chosen well - just a great shot.
I needed to push myself to find anything wrong: I can see grass (side) and palm trees (wheel and side) reflected, even where the environment looks clearly different. You really need to pay attention for that one, though :P
Thanks Will. :)
Arn, thanks. :) Hahaha! Don't worry, that's one of the things that people noticed when I posted it on Facebook. XD
Materials test
That last one is really nice ! Good paint.
Hot! Bit of tessellation here and there, but looking really good.
Thanks guys :)
@josh
Yep noticed that when it was finished :o
just a few renders over the weekend. :)
raw + noise
That's a cheeky little beast. Would look dope with the lights on.
