A test with textures only in Keyshot...
an other one in a warmest environment....
Nice harmonica, but the obvious repeating pattern on the ground plane is very distracting
Yes you are right ???
i've correct it ;)
Metal is looking great. I find the wood a bit strange though. Is the texture set in box mapping mode ? Light setup is also really good.
Thanks Nico ;)
Yes i've a problem with wood material in Keyshot :(
UV mapping is the only way i found to get decent results. If you have a small radius to map, spliting surfaces and mapping individually often do the job, but with rounded corners i still haven't found an easy way to get it right.
Yes UV mapping is the best but it's a model to Grabcad and when i put it in C4D to create UV it's the misery ;)
I've change the mapping mode of the wood texture
I hope it's better now.
In attachment 2 other tests.
Thanks again
Yes ! 'harmonica.45.jpg' looks awesome now.
Cool ! thanks Nico ;)
I've added a little blue light and 2-3 corrections
here a black and copper version...
with vinyls records...
Hey Finema! Looks awesome but the timber still needs a bit of a bump map in my opinion. Try increasing the gloss to 18% (wouldn't know how much is that in roughness haha but wood on an harmonica has to be at least hand oiled) and adding a 0.15 bump to it so the darker seeds on the grain insets a tiny bit. Timber can be tricky sometimes when not using uv mapping.
Oh! By the way, that label detail looks incredible!!!
Thanks Nicordf
i will test... ;)
Have you tried enabling rounded edges for the sake of the wood pieces? They seem a bit too sharp to me. Love the subject though!
Yes will, i've tried but that causes artefacts (i haven't the last version of keyshot)

I hear that. In that case, a quick little touch-up in post would go far.
I've only enabling rounded edges on the wood piece (i dunno why but not on metal piece = artefacts) and i think it's better
Can you see the difference Will ?
Looks perfect now! (how much did the render take?)
Thanks nicordf
256 Samples > 1280 x 1024 = 12 minute render
Looks awesome, Finema. The rounded edges and wear on the wood surfaces makes all the difference in the world.
Cheers,
Eric
Thanks Eric ;)
Very nice -- Thank you for sharing.
Thanks TyRuben ;)
The last render with a subtil update in lights.
I think this render is better than my Imperial Jar in the Keyshot Gallery..
It's my opinion ;)
