Title: Plz help me improve the wicker material
Post by: thanhle on October 14, 2016, 10:53:26 PM
Hello all,

Could someone take a look at the photo and help me:

1. I can't make the wicker material looks more real. It seems that the wickers are reflective although I've set the reflection value to 0
2. The wicker still look like a round string, but in fact, it should be rough.
3. The horizontal wicker string look better than the vertical, I just copied the material of the horizontal and pasted to the vertical, change the angle to 90. You can see the differences between the back leg and the front leg or the armrest.
4. Overall, the chair looks unreal, plz give me some advices to improve
Thanks in advance

You should not need to change the specular or IoR value.

Increase roughness value to decrease glossiness. Change your HDRI environment to something with some more contrast for better realism.

Make sure you're using an appropriate material (not diffuse), perhaps plastic or something.
