Title: Need Help on Emissive Materials
Post by: br3ttman on October 17, 2016, 08:22:29 PM
Can someone explain what I might be doing wrong in this scene.  I've applied an emissive material to the skulls' eyeballs to create a glowing light FX.   The eyeballs themselves glow, but they don't seem to cast any light in the scene.  For example, the eyeball sockets should be glowing with the light emitted from the eyeballs, but they seem to be lit only from the HDRI in this scene.

Hey br3ttj-

Try enabling Global Illumination with at least one Indirect Bounce. See it that helps.

Also, if you want a object to actually cast light - instead of just glowing - I would advice you to try and use the 'area light'-material instead of the 'emissive'.

Best,
