Unless I missed something, it looks as though this only gives a texture for a single surface, ie. it will not give front, side and end grain, appropriately aligned, for a block of wood!

I'm trying to add a rustic wood texture (below) in Keyshot 3. The model just turns to the color of the image but theres no texture to it. In Keyshot 2 applying a texture was easily. Please let me know what I'm doing incorrectly.

I don't know how you UV mapped the model, but you may need to play some tricks.  First, be sure to use "Box Map" as the projection, position it, and you will likely have to scale it.  See 1st image.  Grain looks neat!

But, you will want to be able to place the wood grain in the right directions to emulate the construction, and for this you need to "map" it with color in the native modeling app.  Does not matter what colors are used.  If SolidWorks, don't use SW materials!  The last three images will demonstrate this process.

Hope this helps!
