Hey all, just wanted to share a personal project I am currently working on.. a portrait of Ben Kenobi.
Pretty stunning detail! Would love to see it fully materialed and rendered.

Thank you, Will!! I'm working on it! ;D ;D
Sharing some progress from tonight.. trying to get these hairs rendered correctly, then I will turn my attention to the clothing. :D ;D
More late night progress. Adjusted the materials a bit, especially the hood. Slight tweaks to fibers and the skin shader.
Small update. ;) ;D Added some context to the scene. Mixed levels of bloom in post.
Great work. I think the skin could be improved. It looks a little to flat, and is lacking translucency.

Thank you! I appreciate the crit, I'll take a closer look!!
Additional tweaks made to lighting and skin material. I'm still doing minor tweaks but I think this will be close to the final image. :D
Thanks for viewing! Any crits will be appreciated.
Looking really good. However, it looks like he is wearing lipstick ;-)

Haha. I was going back and forth trying to decide how they should look. I think now I agree with you! Thanks, Thomas!
Hi all! Here are my final images of this project. Thank you for joining me on this journey.. this project has helped me understand a lot about Keyshot's powerful capabilities. I hope you like it!
Side note: I cannot wait for Rogue One!!
Love the b&w shot.

All thanks to the community of artists here! The resources here are invaluable.. the webinars especially!
The black n white shots are certainly the better renders, well done. As you get more experienced with KS skin and translucency it might well be worth revisiting this, it's an excellent sculpt.

Thanks Martin! Yeah, I feel like I'm still working out the kinks in regards to the correlation between the scene units and the material values.
Wow! This is really nice! I like the glow from the lightsaber on his face especially.

Excuse me for bringing back in older thread, but I couldn't help myself to go back to this project and rework some of the materials and such. Here's what I got!
This is straight out of Keyshot.. the only post work I did was add extra blue glow to the lightsaber since I didn't want to crank up the bloom too high.
More inspiration stemming from the announcement of The Last Jedi! Decided to build a backdrop for old Obi-Wan. I referenced the hallways of the Death Star.
Backdrop is a simple model using alphas and emissive materials.
