I've been using Keyshot with WF5 for a few months now with no problem. I've just tried to use it with WF4 and when I load PROE I get the message KeyShot failed to intialise: error PRO_TK_GENERAL_ERROR. I've checked the protk.dat file and it looks ok pointing to the correct dll file.

Any ideas?

PRO_TK_GENERAL_ERROR is a return value of a Pro/TOOLKIT function. Because the error has been showed, the plugin has been loaded by Pro/E, but it detected an error.
What the cause of the error was, can only the developer of the plugin know.
