Title: Removing Materials!
Post by: Wanderingdesigner on August 25, 2017, 09:00:50 AM
Hello,

I've just been working on applying materials to a model.

In SW, I have applied different colour swatches to differentiate the surfaces for material application in KS.

Now, I link-pasted (paste linked material) a material onto another material by accident. I wanted to then split the materials or revert them back to how they were on import. But, it wont let me, or it won't let me just revert the component / model selection back to it's imported colours.

Does anyone know why you can't get the initial / imported / base materials back? A 'Remove material' option feels appropriate here.

Cheers

You can always right-click on a surface and choose to unlink the material. If you want it back to the way it was upon first import, just re-import your model. You can't ever remove materials in KS. You can just change them. Even on your imported model, it has materials. They are by default 'Diffuse' materials.
