Title: Animating a Gas Spring with Rotation and Translation
Post by: Mario Stockinger on September 04, 2017, 10:42:27 PM
In an old KS Version (I think it was KS4) i created an animation of one of our products but i lost the Bip File.

So i wanted to recreate it in KS 7 but now o have a problem with a gas spring that has to rotate and a translation.
(We have no Creo Parametrics, we usw Creo Elementes Modeling v. 19)

The spring has 2 parts (Cylinder and piston)

I tried to use the local coordination system for the translation but the problem is that the local coordination system does not rotate. It stays in the original
position. When it would rotate i think the problem would be solved. Maybe an issue in KS7 ?
I can't remeber how i solved it in the old KS Version but it worked and the result was ok.

(I had to play with the camera angle to hide a few erros  ::) )

I found the problem, i grouped the 2 zylinders i wanted to to a translation.

When i set the translation on each part  seperate - the local coordiantion system is rotated correct.
