Hola !
This is our entry for the 2017 Material Competition

We decided to use the Metallic Paint material, as we believed this was the best material improvement on Keyshot 7.
We made a really simple model in order to better showcase the material properties. The tags are not part of the geometry.

The base material is plastic
The first layer of metallic paint is the base color and the shape of the tag
The second layer of metallic paint is an opacity layer with the color changing text ( It was made using the "color gradient" texture as the base color, and the mapping set to "view direction")

Also there are some specular and roughness maps on each layer to add a "safety" feel of a holographic tag.

We uploaded a video so you can see the holographic effect of the tag. ( you may have to download the video, but is worth it)
