Title: Newbie needs to change color on fabrics
Post by: arpykeyshooter on October 24, 2017, 06:33:25 AM
Hi Everyone.  I am having trouble with figuring out how to change colors on cool materials such as Cloth Weave White 1mm.

I want to chose a different color, so I assumed choosing white would be the best to start with and go to the color tab and drag a color onto the model.  That is not working for me.  Is there something basic that I am missing?

This is a material with a procedural texture. You will need to double click on the material and change the color of the diffuse texture map under the texture tab.

So I double clicked on the material.   Nothing happend.  However, I did go to the texture tab and I cannot see where to change the color.  If I unclick the color tab on the texture, the weave texture goes away and just makes the material red... am i missing something?

Yes - scroll down in the dialog. The color adjustment is under the color accordion.

The effect (one soid color) could be defined by a large or very tiny scale of the procedural texture.
Just look into this example file. It is set up with the tips of Thomas Teger.

Hope that thelps.

Cheers
