Title: Scale Animation
Post by: BasTel on November 26, 2017, 10:58:07 PM
Hello everybody, I am using KeyShot for 2 month now and I wondered if there is any way to animate the scale of an object.
I only found an old forum-entry from 2012 when it wasn't possible. Has this change since then?

Greetings and Thank you in advance

Not in the current version as I know.
That is still a part for alembic cache import, predefined in another tool.

Hi BasTel,

Scale animations cannot be created inside KeyShot.
Like MWo mentions, this can be achieved through Alembic cache imports, which also support deformations.
Regular scale animations, without mesh deformations, are supported in multiple ways:

Hi BasTel,

Scale animations cannot be created inside KeyShot.
Like MWo mentions, this can be achieved through Alembic cache imports, which also support deformations.
Regular scale animations, without mesh deformations, are supported in multiple ways:

  • Direct import of FBX, Alembic and Maya
  • Using the plugin in Maya, Cinema 4D or 3ds Max

Thank you Dries for the detailed information.
