Title: Library Import Option to Convert Files to Keyshot 7
Post by: gatekeeper on November 29, 2017, 05:17:44 PM
I received and .obj and the .mtl files for a model. The .obj opened right away and it appears glossy black. (It's not supposed to be glossy black)
When I try to import the .mtl file into the materials library, i get an error message saying "Incompatible material files have been found, please use the library material import option to convert these files to KeyShot 7. I do not know what this means, or understand what I am doing incorrectly. I am clicking on the folder with the arrow icon in the library materials window and get this message. When I navigate to the location mentioned in the error message, the files are there, but I do not understand what I am supposed to do. I have checked the manual and this forum, and have not found a solution. This is probably a noob question, but I would appreciate your help. Thanks.

The mtl file that comes with the obj is different to KeyShot mtl files. Open both in a text editor and you'll see different structure/ parameter.

So and obj mtl can't be imported to the library.
