Title: Problem with light refraction in transparent Plexiglass material
Post by: RandomUninterestingName on January 12, 2018, 02:58:54 PM
I'm trying to create a model which contains Plexiglass with some objects behind it. The refractive index of Plexiglass is approximately 1.48, which I set.
However, looking at the render the objects behind the plexiglass are warped by an absolutely bizarre degree. Does anyone know what is going on here and how I could fix it?
I have looked through all settings the material and lighting have to offer but I can't find anything that gives me a more reasonable refraction of light.

Could it be that your surface is single sided?

You mean it needs thickness? It is just a surface from Rhino, no thickness, just a single surface.

EDIT: That did the trick! Good to know that this is an important requirement! Thanks for the help.
