Title: Helical Wrapping
Post by: MBecker32 on February 13, 2018, 05:05:26 AM
Does anyone know what type of software could have been used to create this wrapping effect? Our company has similar helical products for the utility industry and we have always had a hard time showcasing this wrapping effect with KeyShot. YouTube link is below:

Most modeling apps should be able to do this sort of thing. I'm a cinema 4d user, and I know the mograph and splinewrap tools could  do this with some bit of tweaking. There is also an older plugin that still works called Reaper that simulates ropes and strandedwires that I've used.

Yeah, I'd think Max, Maya, Modo, C4D, Blender can all... i.e. not CAD apps... Would be good to comment on the YouTube video and ask the owner of the video if you haven't already.
