This is my first attempt at overclocking. I was getting 70 FPS on the stock processor at 3.2 GHz, then 90 FPS at the overclocked 4.4 GHz. Processor and video cards are water-cooled.

Curious; why did you end up choosing the Quadro 4600 over other graphics card options?
When I bought the card (PNY Quadro FX4600) in 2008, it was a price vs. performance decision: I paid $375 for it on Ebay. Of course I would always take a faster card, but this thing is a survivor, still handles all my modeling adequately, so I decided to spend another $100 on a water block and keep it for a few more years.

I have 3930K 3.2 GHz OC to 4.4 GHz,
32GB Dominator 1600, got no luck to oc memory
GTX 680
I managed only to get 84fps, which is 6.7% slower than your machine. Really strange.
Do you think it is the memory speed difference affected this? Or is it because keyshot version difference did?
Could you run the same camera test again on Keyshot 3 if possible?

I do think that Keyshot 3 is responsible for some difference in frame rate. I can't give you a comparison though because I reduced my overclocking after Keyshot 3 was never stable at the higher clock speed that worked for Keyshot 2. Currently I'm getting 67 FPS with this setup:

There is definitely a difference in FPS between KS2, and KS3. I'm running a one year old BOXX i7-3960K system overclocked to 4.4Ghz and I get 106 FPS in KS2, and 85.4 FPS in KS3 with the same Camera scene.
Do you mean 3960X? or 3930K?
It's a BOXX 4920-Xtreme system, so it's i7-3960X @ 4.4 GHz, I'm running 8GB, of RAM and have an 80GB Intel SSD (they were really expensive last year so I could only afford the 80GB.
I did think I'd be getting higher frame rates out of the system than I am. Don't know if the 8GB of RAM is a bottleneck?
I know my SSD is usually running with only 5-6 GB of free space most of the time. I've got a new 256 GB SSD sitting next to me on my desk that I'm going to install this weekend. I know that will bring up my Windows Experience Index number. Don't know if that will relate to fast FPS in KS??

I don't believe ssd will affect your fps in keyshot. But if you ssd does is over 50% full, you may experience your ssd with declined performance.
I don't think your ram is the bottleneck either. I have 3930K OC to 4.4GHz, with 32GB corsair dominator platinum ddr3 1600. You still have about 1 to 1.5 fps over mine.
I strongly believe FPS should go linear with clock speed and core numbers, or almost linear, just my personal feeling, may not be right.
