Title: Run benchmark on Network render?
Post by: mattjgerard on February 21, 2018, 07:18:12 AM
Is there a way to benchmark a network render so that I can compare the FPS to my main workstation? I think I might have to transfer my license to the NR node (only have one single server running master and slave) and run the camera benchmark scene, then move the license back to my workstation.

Is there another way?

With the network rendering (NR) it's not really about FPS, it's more about completing the job.  With NR you have other components involved such as copying the data from the master to slaves, so I would think a more valid way to benchmark NR would be to render the camera demo at 4K resolution on both your local machine and then on your NR and time how long it takes to complete the job from start to finish.  In your case this should also mean you do't have to move licenses around.
