Title: Incorrect rounded edge reflection
Post by: StevenFotovdb on March 15, 2018, 09:34:43 AM
Hello,

I have the following problem using the rounded edge option in Keyshot:

I imported a Step file of a backplate which contains holes (not rounded) and used the rounded edge shader in Keyshot to round them off. However, after applying a material and lighting, I noticed that the reflection was incorrect. In the 'incorrect' attached image file below, you can see that the highlights of the holes are on the upper side, while the lighting is also coming from above. This is incorrect since the rounded holes should catch the highlights on the bottom side.

I then performed a fillet operation in Fusion360, reimported the backplate and tried again. And then, without having too use the rounded edge option, the reflection was correct.

Does anyone have an idea where this problem comes from and how it can be fixed?
When necessary i can send a package of the keyshot file.

Thanks!
