Title: Import folders from Alias Automotive 2018
Post by: HH_KS_7 on March 28, 2018, 09:03:12 AM
Hi,

I've just solved how to organise components and parts into folders in Alias Automotive 2018. I was hoping this organisation tree (known as "object lister" in Alias) would copy into the KeyShot 7 Scene List or Model Sets if I imported as a '.wire' into keyshot.

Sadly...nay.

I've tried the import settings I can think off (Group by 'layer', 'shader' or 'object' etc) but the surfaces are only organised via layer rather than folders or groups.

Is there anything I could be missing or an alternate file type (.igs, .step or .obj?) that would allow to keep the folder heirachy?

Cheers for any and all help!

Best,

Generally when working with layer-base programs, i.e. Alias or Rhino, we suggest organizing by 'material' and then in your 3D app, having everything you wish to be grouped on a layer to be the same color.

Update:

Parts are organised into the right folders when the same file is imported into Keyshot 6.2 - I'm now even more stumped, help!
