Title: Dull Looking Aluminum Tubing
Post by: JoshMcCann on April 10, 2018, 07:09:17 AM
I'm trying to replicate the look of aluminum tubing and I'm having quite a difficult time pulling it off.  I can get some pretty good results using substance painter, but then I have to UV the model and I have a lot of different renders to do and that will just take too much time.  I have attached an image below. Would love to hear any suggestions anyone might have.

Can you also post a screenshot of where you are, it's hard to see how far off you are and give suggestions if we don't see what you see.

Without being able to see what you've tried, have you used any labels /roughness maps to get variations in the material?

Sorry, that would have been helpful. Here's what I've got so far.

Looks good - Adding some kind of dirt texture to the roughness of the metal and adjusting it using a color to number node should get you close.
