Title: link material permanently to object?
Post by: BachManiac on July 14, 2011, 10:26:48 PM
Hi!

When I change a material which is already used on a model, i have to assign the material to the model again to apply the changes.

I have scenes with hundrets of models with the same material so it would be very useful when the assigned materials are permanently linked to their models.

I know this from other render-programs like 3dsmax or blender, where permanent linked materials are the standard-solution.

Is there a way to do this?

greets from Austria!

You can link parts in the scene tree by selecting them, and then right clicking on the selection.

Or

When applying the material through dragging and dropping from the material library, apply the material to the first part, then click on the part to copy the material (shift + left click) and then pasting & linking it onto the other parts via shift + ctrl + right click.
