Title: Metal shine\glow
Post by: AlexBBM on July 25, 2018, 07:48:08 AM
Hello everybody. How can I teach such an effect on metal? This is a small scattering of light from the screen over the surface of the metal.

Hello.

For this glow you can activate the image effects in the project dialog (last register). Or that can be done with the edit option in the render dialog.

Hope that helps

Your solution is like a Photoshop filter, but I'm looking for the properties of the material.

That effect causes the imperfections and dirt on a lens and not on the material. So it can be done with image effects or some shiny pins in the HDRI environment.

Any other solution depends on complex material graphs with regional reflections controlled by gradients.

Hope that helps to find the right track.
