Title: NR Multiple Slave issue
Post by: chrisindustrial on August 07, 2018, 04:08:18 AM
On our system we have x2 slave hosts set up. One slave has x1 allowed cores, the other has x6 allowed cores.

When I send a job to the network queue, it goes through 'Archiving' > 'Sending' > 'Preparing' > 'Ready'.

Then status on each slave then changes from 'Receiving' > 'Preparing' > 'Rendering' on both slaves. However, only the slave with x1 core shows any kind of % Task Progress... almost as if it is not utilising the other slave (x6 cores) at all, which shows '-' under Task Progress.

Nothing seems to let me use both slaves simultaneously. Please advise.

Thanks.

Hello Chris,

This is a bug that is fixed in v8 but it is only related to progress reporting, not whether actual work is being done. Because it is. The slaves are rendering. You can double check this by seeing that the "tasks done" column in "slave status" counts up after each slave completes a task.

Sorry for the inconvenience.
Thanks!
