Title: export to fbx or stl and retain labels and textures?
Post by: David E on August 10, 2018, 10:24:51 AM
Hi. I'm new to the forum and not nearly as skilled as many that I have seen here.  Is there a way in KeyShot to export to an fbx or stl file extension without losing textures and labels? We use box.com to share files at work. Box.com has a feature that allows users to create a box 3D package, so that other users can view your 3D model without having to download anything. So far, I have tried exporting to obj, fbx, and stl, but have not been able to get the labels and textures to convey.

So, I'm not sure whether to take the lack of responses as 1) no one knows the answer, or 2) I did a really bad job of framing my question.

Hi David,

as I know it is not possible to export labels or procedural textures in FBX. You would need to UV unwrap your model and to texture it in the classic way. This job is not for KeyShot at the moment, but who knows what the future will bring us. :)
