Is there anyway to render a depth pass only and not have to render the actual images (png, jpg, etc) ?
I have rendered an entire animation and forgot to render depth passes. It seems like you can only add this pass in addition to a full image which would mean two more days of rendering for me :(
Hm, good question. I would apply the same material to every part. And to speed up, I would choose a flat material.
But I haven't tried it yet.
Good luck!
Hope that helps
Cheers

Hi Kayvan,
There is currently no way of only rendering passes.
A solution might be to render at 1 sample. The depth pass should look no different at different sample rates, unless you render with motion blur or depth of field, but then the depth pass will give issues in post-processing anyway.
Let me know if this solution works for you.

This is what I have done in the past, can confirm it works just fine.
Yes, rendering only the passes would be a good feature to implement.
