Title: Melting bullet animation
Post by: Motorgoblin on October 24, 2018, 01:41:23 AM
Hi all!

I'm interested to make this kind of short animation of a "melting" bullet. Is this possible with KeyShot or do you recommend some other program for this? How would you recommend to make it if it's possible?

Here's the video:

I need probably more than just two 3D-models (start and end situations) to get this working. ;D

I'm pretty new to this animating stuff, so all ideas are welcome!

Thanks!

Hi Juho,

These kind of deformation animations are supported through Alembic caches.
The animated model will have to be created in an external modeling application, that supports exporting Alembic caches.
Examples are Maya, 3ds Max, Cinema 4D, Modo, Blender and many others.

Thank you for the info! Good to know how to start the process for this.
