Title: Transparent Glass for Changeable Backgrounds
Post by: dxburke on November 15, 2018, 06:54:34 AM
I'm sorry if this is a dumb question, but the company I work for has me rendering out a lot of glass items. They are using my renders and changing the backgrounds to photoshop them. When I render them in Keyshot, it always has the background I'm rendering it on. I was wondering if there is a way to render glass so that way you can change the backgrounds. The person before me rendered in cinema 4D and this was obtainable. Is this obtainable in Keyshot?

This can only be done with the basic glass material in KeyShot.

I have had a lot of success using this method which someone on this forum mentioned: https://web.archive.org/web/20110201014724/http://chippwalters.posterous.com/the-perfect-green-screen-key-effect-in-photos
. We have several clear plastic items and this works very well. I even created an action in photoshop to speed things along.
