Title: Olive drab color...
Post by: berzer on August 24, 2011, 11:36:50 PM
Hi,

I'm trying to make a new material in an old military style - olive drab color. (http://www.markstaar.com/images/RRM-Plastics/olive-drab.jpg)

But everything what I make is shiny, reflective etc :(

How to make material similar to this one one the picture?

Can someone help me with this?

Try "flat" material (it's on the material list editing menu).

Hi berzer,

You can make this color with muliple material types. It's all about personal preference. I would use Diffuse as the material type, but if it's too "flat" try the advanced material type and play with the settings there. Let us know if you need more help!

@Chad Holton - no need for the advanced material

To edit the material double click on it once it is applied. Change the specular color to black or a dark grey so you get just a tiny bit of reflection, and then add some roughness if needed.

Use Color Pixie, a free download from the Net. This will give you the exact RGB/HTML/Hue readings for anything on your screen. Once you have that you can play with other settings like IOr etc
