Title: KS 8 Frames Per Second issue
Post by: Kennady on December 18, 2018, 12:13:36 PM
Hi fellow users,

Running KS 8.1 Pro latest update on PC Win 10 & Mac Mojave.
Rendering an animation to 32bit frame output. Project is 25 fps.

Issue: When I set the fps in an animation to 25 fps from the default 30 fps, the output still renders at 30 fps.

I notice that when I go to click on the fps box that clearly says 25 fps, the dropdown highlights on 30 fps. Even if I save this new setting, close and reload the file, it'll revert to 30 fps on output. The fps box still show 25.

My only workaround is that when I load an existing file I have to manually change it to something other than 25 and then select 25 before rendering. Not ideal in a production workflow.

Any help?

I think I've figured it out...   ::)
I believe KS is rendering the right FPS output but the metadata when importing to After Effects is wrong. A simple reinterpret footage change inside AE to 25 fps fixes this issue.

Thanks for posting your find. Might help someone in the future.

And yeah, After Effects. Sometimes it does what it wants to anyway no matter what :)
