Title: managing Materials on parts
Post by: WoodCarver on January 16, 2019, 06:08:06 AM
I do not know if i am asking to much of Keyshot, but i will ask this and see if anyone can help me. I run Solid Edge for my CAD software and some of my assemblies are pretty large (hundreds of parts). When I import my assembly all the same bolts carry material basic off from Solid Edge but then has (#2) or some number assigned to it. because of this i can not just select one bolt and change the material by using "past linked material" to have all the bolts with the same given p/n change to that material.

I am assuming you are assigning a color/material in Solid Edge. I do this one of two ways in Keyshot.
1. I either search by material from the Search All Bar in the Scene tab (this assumes you have something unique in the material name) when you finish typing your search all items that include what you searched for should be highlighted. Without clicking or doing anything else hold down the ctrl key than right click and choose Link Materials.
2. You can click while holding down the ctrl or shift keys to select items either randomly (ctrl) or in a block (shift).
