Not sure if the Keyshot version is actually released yet - I think it was due out on September 1st.

You should see an extra button in the environment tab in options if it is installed, and you do need the Pro version of HDR Light Studio as TT said.

In any case this is a fantastic new product that elevates Keyshot to a whole new level of precison rendering and should (finally) shut up all those who complain that Keyshot doesn't offer enough control over lighting! With HDR Light Studio plug in you have all the control you could need. Honestly, with this product and keyshot you really don't need anything else for rendering for studio type product design shots and more besides. Enjoy!

Email the guys at Lightmap - they should be able to sort you out quickly. Failing that (and apologies if this is a daft question) are you 100% sure you actually have the Keyshot plug in installed? Like I said, it is not due for release until Thursday.

I don't know why I'm getting this "noise" in my image! I tried to put some light source like a plane with light material but its not enough =/. This is just a preview from the viewport...Even if I render it I still get the noise =/ Does anyone know how I can bright that up and remove the noise!? thanks

Yes you need the Keyshot Plug In for HDR LightStudio Pro - then you can work as you do in the videos. But the plug in is not released until tomorrow - I expect you will get an email from Lightmap with links at some point in the next few days.

The plug in is not available yet - I was beta testing it, so I know a bit about it.

As for the noise in your image - I'm not sure as we would need to know more about how you created the HDRI and the settings in Keyshot before we can answer that. Usually when you get these things you can try increasing the samples in Keyshot, or other render settings. Increasing the gamma also helps reduce noise and image darkspots.

Hey quigley! Thanks! I'm using the Zion_cafe Hdri from the keyshot website...I've tried many others but They look all the same...Increasing the gamma helps me to get that brighter but that strange noise is still there..It looks there is something torn in some areas! So here is what I got configured for now. Thanks

That noise issue is strange. If you could send us the bip file (support@luxion.com) I'm sure we can figure it out.

Thanks!

Thanks Jeff! But the bip file is about 600mb! The entire scene has over 2 milion poly. Is there any other way?

The software looks SWEET! Though the license is problematic. Here's a note I sent to their CEO:

QuoteI am disappointed and confused as to why you wouldn't want your customers to be able to use your software on both their desktop and laptop computers. Racking my brain, I can think of no other significant 3D software products which limit their use in this way. Perhaps there are a few in the engineering domain.

Please consider changing your license-- and view your existing customers as valuable partners, and not as potential thiefs.

A licensing change will also make it easy for future customers, like myself, to purchase your product. I have been following your product for a couple of years now, and since the addition of a KeyShot plugin, I now see how it may be an excellent investment. I certainly understand the need to protect your intellectual property, and I think you can continue to do this by allowing a user to have access to the software they purchased on both laptop and PC.

KeyShot USED to have the same policy as you. I (and others) met with them at SigGraph last year and talked about why it's a better idea to license to individuals and not computers. They listened and shortly thereafter, I bought it.

I will not be purchasing your product, even though it looks MARVELOUS! It appears your company has done a great job implementing the necessary features and UIX for a best-in-breed product.

Best of luck. Let me know if you ever decide to change your license policy.
