Hi I'm having issues where exported assemblies from solidworks as step files come in as grouped. I have applied different materials to them in solidworks, and I can see them as different parts in the scene tree. I have selected all and hit unlink parts, unlink materials, etc. I also have uninstalled and reinstalled keyshot and still can't get it to work. Has anyone run into this issue?

Why are you exporting STEP from SW? Use the native SoldiWorks import.
Also, the STEP exporter from SolidWorks doesn't support color information.
