Title: Import With Update Moves Geometry
Post by: CodyBrown on February 27, 2019, 04:18:52 AM
When doing an import with update it moves all my pieces around and rotates them to different angles and changes the size of it and blows it up so big it goes outside of my environment. I've checked the "up" direction in the import dialog and tried every one of them just to see if i was using the wrong one but any one i use still turns my model. all my lights i placed into the scene after stay where they are and my cameras stay but now my model is flipped up on its side and way bigger but nothing changes in the scale, its still set at 1. is anyone else experiencing the same issues and have you found a way to resolve it?

Shane,

i found a small work around that works for my scenes, im not sure if it would work for you as well but one of my scenes that was moving everything i had multiple model sets it. if i deleted the extra model sets and then pushed an update it would work. worked with direct imports as well as pushing from the plugin in NX.

In another scene that i had i only had the one model set but it still moved everything around. on this scene i just kept experimenting with the import with update directly in KeyShot. i tried every single "Up" orientation choice and eventually importing it with the up direction set to -X it worked. and neither the keyshot scene nor my NX file used -X as the up direction. one used X and the other used Y but for some reason importing with -X as the up direction has worked for that scene multiple times since then. im actually still using it and still successfully updating it this way.

not sure if either of these solutions would work for you as well but hopefully it helps!
