Title: Excluding lights to reflect on specific objects
Post by: germannick on March 28, 2019, 06:42:39 AM
It would be very helpful to exclude objects or materials from reflecting specific lights.

The experimental feature ray mask (utility node) should do exactly this.

But I haven't an example right now, 'cause I wrote this with a mobile.

Marco, I will look into this. Thanks for the hint
nonetheless this already sounds more complicated in the set up than just selecting a certain light and say exclude certain object :)

Hi Marco, the ray mask node can exclude a material from the reflection or GI, but not from a specific light. If you like to exclude just one light from a particular object in the scene - it isn't possible in KS.
Light linking is very usefull on complex shots like watches or car interiors.
