Title: Animation render time bogged down by displacement
Post by: cterminel on May 09, 2019, 07:27:53 PM
Hi all, I'm trying to do some fairly simple animations for a work project. The model I'm using has a static displacement map. I'm finding that KeyShot is applying the displacement to each individual frame, which is making the render time much, much longer than I can accommodate. The displacement is not changing frame-to-frame. Is there any way around this? If not, any chance this could be fixed by KS9 (or better, an update for KS8)?

Thanks!
Carlos

Hi Carclos,
the only way for now is to export the displaced geometry and import it back again.
Cheers

I'll just second that. That's the methods I've been using as well.
