Title: Opacity/Transparency Map with Dielectric material
Post by: Zander85 on October 01, 2011, 09:16:38 AM
Hey guys,
Still rendering jewelry and I have everything down pretty much except for the ground reflection. I would like to get a reflection similar to this one: (first attachment)

I was have tried importing geometry but it catches harsh lights in the HDRI. I was thinking maybe I could apply some sort of transparency map to a material that will cast nice rough reflections like the one in the example. Here is a screen cap illustrating my thinking: (2nd attachment)

Is this possible in Keyshot 2.3?

Actually my boss wants a smooth reflection, so a material that could do this transparency with a smooth reflection is needed. Anyone know of a material that I could get this type of reflection with that can contain a transparency map?

I forgot to mention that reflection was created in photoshop but I want to create a material in KS that will get me that effect.
