Title: Label bump not working correctly
Post by: pegasusfoil on August 21, 2019, 03:12:51 AM
I am completely new to Keyshot.

I need to have an embossed logo on a product and as you can see from the screenshot it is a .png file with transparent background.

It looks fine under diffuse, but as soon as I move it over to bump, the entire part turns black.

What am I doing wrong?

Bump maps need a little bit of a gradient between black/white to create the 'ramp' to go from normal to raised surface. If you have a hard edge between black and white you might not see the bump map clearly.
Another thing is that the white areas are the raised areas (with positive bump values between 0-1). So, maybe your logo is black, which makes the bump non-existing (value 0).
And finally, you should probably not use transparent images for bump maps. White on a black background works best.
