Title: Keyshot 9 with AMD cards?
Post by: zooropa on October 02, 2019, 06:06:10 AM
Hi, I have a Macbook Pro. I am planning to buy a E-gpu in order to use Keyshot 9.

The E-Gpu on macs are compatible only with:

-AMD Radeon RX 470, RX 480, RX 570, RX 580, and Radeon Pro WX 7100
-AMD Radeon RX Vega 56
-AMD Radeon RX Vega 64, Vega Frontier Edition Air, and Radeon Pro WX 9100

Would these AMD cards work with Keyshot 9 GPU feature ?

Thanks a lot.

From what I have read here on the forum, save your money. It's all about Nvidia and RTX...

I had to ditch the Mac awhile ago (for Keyshot only) and Windows 10 is not bad.

Amd gpu is garbage for this type of work that's why redshift octane and all the other gpu renders don't support amd and even if they do in the future it's going to be slow to implement AMD

Not 100% sure, but I believe you will be able to USE the AMD GPUs...but you won't be able to take advantage of the true speeds you'd get from having NVidia and RTX cards. So yeah, as someone else mentioned, I would save the cash for now.

Edit; I was wrong!

Hi,

Keyshot 9 will only support Nvidia graphic cards.  A good base for GPU rendering would be the RTX4000 or the RTX2080 but if you are working with larger scenes I would recommend  RTX5000 or the RTX2080 TI for the extra memory.

Thanks in advance,
