Title: Solidworks and material IDs?
Post by: Pepster3D on October 05, 2011, 10:36:06 AM
Hi everyone,
I am not experienced with Solidworks, but am a Keyshot and 3DS Max user.  If I am getting a 3d model of a product bag from Solidworks, can I have each side of the bag created with seperate material IDs out of Solidworks?  This way I can apply my shaders and maps in Keyshot.  Right now my client is giving me the model with the whole object as 1 ID, and I haven't talked directly to the modeler.  I thought I'd ask here first.  Thanks!   ???

You can apply a different color to each surface - this will brake it out in KeyShot.
