Title: Looking for a ghost effect
Post by: evo on December 18, 2019, 11:54:39 AM
I am trying to create a "ghost" effect where I can indicate an object that is no longer in use. Is there anyway that I can put an overlay over the object to make it appear faded (maybe play with the opacity and transparency) and dulled out in color?

I tried duplicating my object and then scaling the whole object up 1.009 to give it a "skin" of sorts to work with. With that skin acting as a sort of overlay, I tried to create a frosted glass look through the advanced materials setting but I don't get the faded and dulled out color look. Is there a better way to solve this problem?

Do you ever played with the xray material?
Or do you have any reference images that presents the style you're looking at?
