Just noticed that when the render output is set to exr, and you have denoise enabled along with a region render the output file has an error. This only happens when all these conditions are met, exr + denoise + region. Turn off denoise and it's fine, or turn off region and it's fine, save as Tif 32 and it's fine. Hope this is an easy fix.

I was able to replicate the issue you are seeing.
While it is true that that specific combination provides an error, it seems that just having region render on exr files provides an invalid output as well.
