Title: How to not get patterns in textures
Post by: figure1a on February 22, 2020, 10:31:53 AM
When I use textures, I keep getting patterns. Attached is the Asphalt material from KS which looks like I did a bad cloning job in Photoshop. If I use the stone material, it looks like Minecraft. How do I tell KS to vary or alter the pattern so it doesn't make a distinct repeatable pattern?

What is the scale of your texture? It looks like it might be very small, which could be the reason the repetition of the texture is so obvious. Otherwise I'd look into a procedural asphalt texture, rather than an image based texture.

Don't recall the scale but the area is large so no matter what size I make it, I'm going to see a pattern. I'll look in to the procedural asphalt texture. Thanks!
