Title: GPU usage percentage super low
Post by: pt1099 on March 09, 2020, 01:35:50 AM
Sorry for another question on GPU rendering. On my new setup (Core i9 9900KF - 32Go DDR4 - RTX 2080Ti) I obviously take advantage of GPU rendering. The thing is, my GPU usage rarely goes beyond 25% when looking at the task manager. Tends to average 12% in fact. Should I be worried, can there be such a massive bottleneck somewhere in my setup? Intuitively I want this percentage to be super high and maybe my rendering could be much faster. Or is it that my scenes are too simple for the PC to allocate more resources? I already flagged Keyshot "high performance" in my windows graphics settings.

Thank you for any ideas.

No worries, KeyShot is fully utilising all of your GPU.

By default, the GPU utilisation reported by Task Manager does not reflect CUDA load. In the Performance tab of Task Manager, you can set the parameters to be reported via a drop-down list by clicking on the arrow/parameter (by default: 3D/Copy/Video Encode/Video Decode).
By selecting 'Cuda', the utilisation will accurately reflect the GPU load in KeyShot.
