Title: Controlling fuzz
Post by: chevisw on April 07, 2020, 12:27:59 PM
So, I am playing with the fuz feature, and it coming along okay.  One thing i am trying to figure out though is if i can remove the "fuzz" from a certain area. (see images) i do not mind the fuzz around the eye that look connected to the main body, but the few that are in the center need to go away. I can always take care of this via Photoshop but i figured i'd ask here to find a potential fix in key-shot.

Thanks in advance

So a couple things you can try and see if this helps:

Try to reduce the randomness in the fuzz node, this will give a straighter Hair/fuzz and less likely to protrude through the eyeball.

You can also use bump maps plugged in to the directional texture node to give the fuzz a specific direction.

Lastly Fuzz depend on having very clean normals, you can check under tools/edit normals in KeyShot  to make sure there aren't any irregularities with the surface of the model.

Let me know if any of these options help out.

Thanks,
Justin
