Title: Troubles mapping inside surface of cooking pot
Post by: PerFotoVDB on April 21, 2020, 01:09:17 AM
Hi everyone,

Probably this is an easy thing but I can't seem to find a proper solution and it's starting to drive me crazy.
The image attached shows the issue. I am trying to get the lines mapped in Keyshot like in the reference image. The bottom of the cooking pot isn't mapping as it should.
Has anyone encountered this issue and was able to fix it? Would this be necessary to unwrap and would you recommend Keyshot or another tool?

Many thanks,
Per

Hey Per,

It looks like you need to use the anisotropic material. Then use a brushed radial texture as your color. This is a good tutorial by Will: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H9Ig62FObCA (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H9Ig62FObCA)

It also looks like you are close. If you are using the anisotropic reflection model then you can rotate it 90 degrees to get circular scratches rather than radial scratches.

It looks like this is what you are going for. UV unwrap isn't necessary. KSP is attached so you can go through it to help you set up your own.
