Title: Import and Import Dialog
Post by: h15c0r3r on May 05, 2020, 12:51:53 AM
Good morning,

Can someone explain the difference to me between using File - Import and File - Import Dialog?

Many thanks.

Hello h15c0r3r,

The difference between the options is related to KeyShot 9's new quick import feature.

If you enable Quick import  via the import dialog KeyShot will remember your import settings and automatically apply them to any future import of the same format and skip the import dialog.
When using File->Import KeyShot will use Quick import for any file format you have enabled Quick import for.

If you on the other hand want to import a file with settings that differ from the saved Quick import settings, you can instead use File->Import Dialog. That will force the import dialog to show up and allow you to change the import settings.

You can find out more here: https://luxion.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/K9M/pages/1062438702/Import#Import-Quickimport (https://luxion.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/K9M/pages/1062438702/Import#Import-Quickimport)

I hope this answers all questions you might have in relation to Quick import.
